Welcome to Ripon Civic Society
We are dedicated to protecting and enhancing the historic buildings and environment of the cathedral city of Ripon on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales and of the surrounding area.
Our aims include:
- promoting heritage protection and conservation projects in the city and area
- promoting the highest levels of architecture, planning and design
- stimulating public awareness of the best qualities of Ripon and the surrounding area
acting as a leading voice in the development and prosperity of the city and the surrounding area.

Re-Viewed Website Design - open for tender
delighted to tell you that our project (generously funded by HLF and NYCC) is
moving on apace and we are now in a position to seek the services of a
professional web designer, experienced in bringing digitised historical
collections to a wider audience. The Ripon Re-Viewed Project has a
collection of over 7000 images and we're looking forward to sharing them in an
engaging and innovative way.

Our Summer - Autumn Newsletter is now available.NEXT MEETING
The next meeting will take place on Thursday 2 November 2017, when Patrick Wildgust, Curator of Shandy Hall in Coxwold, will talk on 'The Beauties of Sterne'. The meeting, in Allhallowgate Church Hall, begins at 7.30pm, and will be followed by the Society's AGM. Non-members are welcome, at a cost of £3.00.
