Mrs Depelle, who Chairman of Pudsey Civic Society and of the Yorkshire Group of Family History Societies, will look at the history of chimney stacks and pots, including Tudor brick chimneys and elaborate Victorian pots.

The meeting takes place at Allhallowgate Methodist Church Hall in Victoria Grove, Ripon, and starts at 7.30pm. Non-members are welcome, and pay £2.00 for the evening.

David Winpenny, Chairman of Ripon Civic Society, says, ‘It always pays to look up when you’re out and about, and with Jackie Depelle’s encouragement in what promises to be a fascinating talk, we’ll know more about what we see crowning our roofs. Do come along and be fired with enthusiasm for them!’
